PLUM project follows the Verra VCS Standard and the Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) Standards, achieving CCB Gold Level recognition for its exceptional community and climate adaptation benefits.

Moreover, PLUM Project has been assigned a Sylvera Rating of A-AA as of 18 December 2025.

PLUM project significantly contributes to climate mitigation by protecting and restoring peatland and mangrove ecosystems in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. These activities reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance carbon sequestration, generating high-integrity carbon credits over a 60-year project lifetime.

PLUM project area is home to 400 species which 35 species are the globally threatened species, including the Bornean orangutan, proboscis monkey, and Bornean white-bearded gibbon. Through forest protection patrols, biodiversity monitoring, and ecosystem restoration, the project safeguards critical habitats and improves ecosystem connectivity, helping protect some of the region’s most vulnerable wildlife.

PLUM project is designed to deliver benefits to local communities across 13 villages surrounding the project area. Activities focus on 4 key pillars: improving livelihoods, health, education, and access to clean water and sanitation. 

PLUM Project (PT Pagatan Usaha Makmur) was established and is managed by Hutan Kencana Group, which holds a long-term ecosystem restoration license for the project area. The project is also supported by Hutan Synergy, in partnership with Ørsted for technical support.
