The PLUM Project is a large-scale peatland and mangrove conservation initiative in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. Spanning 23,665 hectares, it prevents deforestation, restores degraded wetlands, and supports local communities.

Over its 60-year crediting period, the PLUM Project is expected to generate an estimated 41 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e) in climate benefits. This includes:

The PLUM Project is expected to enhance biodiversity conservation across approximately 23,225 hectares of forest landscape. Key interventions include:

Protection of intact habitats, including over 1,200 hectares of mangrove forest that serve as critical breeding and feeding grounds for wildlife and aquatic species.

Restoration of degraded peatlands through assisted natural regeneration and enrichment planting, including tens of thousands of native tree seedlings.

Improved habitat connectivity and quality, enabling species to thrive and reducing fragmentation.

In addition, the project actively reduces pressures such as deforestation, habitat degradation, and fire risk through forest patrols and sustainable land management practices. These efforts are essential to maintaining the ecological integrity of the landscape.
