The PLUM Project is expected to enhance biodiversity conservation across approximately 23,225 hectares of forest landscape. Key interventions include:
Protection of intact habitats, including over 1,200 hectares of mangrove forest that serve as critical breeding and feeding grounds for wildlife and aquatic species.
Improved habitat connectivity and quality, enabling species to thrive and reducing fragmentation.
In addition, the project actively reduces pressures such as deforestation, habitat degradation, and fire risk through forest patrols and sustainable land management practices. These efforts are essential to maintaining the ecological integrity of the landscape.

Over the life of the project :

Enhanced education access for 2,200 students.

PLUM carbon credits will be generated across 3 types:

Voices from Our Community
The PLUM project area is home to 35 globally threatened species, including iconic and endangered wildlife such as the Bornean orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus wurmbii), the proboscis monkey (Nasalis larvatus), and the Bornean white-bearded gibbon (Hylobates albibarbis). By conserving and restoring these habitats, the project plays a vital role in reducing threats to these species and improving overall ecosystem health.

Forest Patrol teams
Patrol teams head out along forest trails and waterways, following routes that cut across peatland and mangrove ecosystems. Their role is simple but critical: to ensure the forest remains intact.
Over time, this consistency creates stability. Wildlife begins to settle. Sensitive species, which depend on undisturbed habitats, are able to remain and recover.
Camera Traps
Camera traps play an important role in our biodiversity monitoring efforts, helping us better understand the wildlife that inhabits the project area.
Several camera traps are installed across the PLUM Project. These motion-activated cameras capture the presence and movement of species with minimal disturbance to their natural behavior. The data collected supports long-term conservation planning, habitat protection, and monitoring of threatened species across the landscape.




Restoring Habitats
There is no single species planted across the land. Instead, our teams work with a mix of native trees species that belong to peat swamp forests and mangrove ecosystems. Seeds are sourced locally, ensuring that what is planted fits naturally into the landscape.
Some areas are replanted. Others are left to regenerate, supported but not forced. The goal is not to create a plantation, but to rebuild a functioning ecosystem.
